Head of Engineering / CTO Designate
We are recruiting for a vital technical and strategic position within an exciting Bristol based technology start-up. The successful candidate will steer the company’s strategy on software and hardware and implement the solutions within strict financial and time constraints. They will play a key role in the success of an innovative carbon fibre process that will have significant impact in pushing forward both the performance and green credentials of many industries such as automotive, aerospace and renewable energy.
iCOMAT aims to provide our customers with an end to end solution to enable them to carry out advanced manufacturing of carbon fibre parts. iCOMAT is developing hardware and software to enable the commercialisation of its Rapid Tape Shearing (RTS) fibre steering technology to provide fast, reliable, and repeatable 2D and 3D tape laying capability.
We are looking for someone from a high-value high-tech equipment background that is very strong in machine/robot control and simulation software, DFM and CAM. The candidate will also require understanding of modular electronics control and mechanical engineering. If this is you then we would like to hear from you.
Responsibilities and Duties

Defining the company’s software strategy for 2D and 3D RTS
-
Implementing the company’s software and hardware strategy for 2D and 3D RTS
-
Identify team members required and build a highly effective technology development group
-
Help develop new software IP and patentable hardware
Qualifications, Experience and skills
-
10+ years Degree Qualified with an in depth understanding of software for equipment control
-
Background in the carbon fibre tape laying industry would be preferable
-
Strong team builder with excellent communication skills
-
Excellent planning, writing and budget control ability
-
Adaptable and able to work under pressure to tight timescales
-
Experience with DFM, CAM software and Robot pre-processors is essential
-
Familiarity with IP protection and patenting processes
Salary Level and Hours
Full time position £50-£60K depending on experience plus share options
Ways of working
The bulk of the work will be at iCOMAT headquarters in Bristol with the opportunity to work remotely when it is most efficient.

Project Leader
We are recruiting for an important position within an award winning VC backed well funded Bristol based technology start-up. The successful candidate will control multiple projects for an innovative carbon fibre process that will have significant impact in pushing forward both the performance and green credentials of many industries such as automotive, aerospace and renewable energy.
iCOMAT aims to provide our customers with an end to end solution to enable them to carry out advanced manufacturing of carbon fibre parts. iCOMAT is developing hardware and software to enable the commercialisation of its Rapid Tape Shearing (RTS) fibre steering technology to provide fast, reliable, and repeatable 2D and 3D tape laying capability.
We are looking for a detail focused project leader that can manage multiple simultaneous projects. The projects range from multi partner Innovate UK (IUK) projects to single customer contracts. We need someone with the ability to run and control the projects to deliver on time and on budget project milestones and deliverables. An individual who is comfortable producing progress reports and presentations. If this is you then we would like to hear from you.
Responsibilities and Duties

Run multiple IUK and private contract projects

Be the company focal point for all project communication

Produce project reviews and presentations, assisting the technical teams in presenting

Assist in the bidding process for new projects with various funding bodies

Keep constantly up to date with the RTS technology and its capabilities

Introduce efficiency improvements in how iCOMAT runs projects internally

Assist accounts' team with project claims
Qualifications, Experience and skills

Degree qualified

Excellent understanding of running technical engineering projects

Excellent Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint skills

Track record of IUK project management would be highly advantageous

Good attention to detail

Strong team player with excellent communication skills

Salary Level
Full time position, salary level depending on experience

Business Development Engineer

iCOMAT aims to provide our customers with an end to end solution to enable them to carry out advanced manufacturing of carbon fibre parts. iCOMAT is developing hardware and software to enable the commercialisation of its Rapid Tape Shearing (RTS) fibre steering patented technology to provide fast, reliable, and repeatable 2D and 3D tape laying capability.
We are looking for a self-starting hardworking individual who can build lasting relationships in complex supply chains. Someone with the ability to interpret what the customer wants and to develop that relationship to provide the right technology on time. Someone with a strong track record of selling high value equipment into the automotive and aerospace sectors. An individual will fully understand the technology and feedback customer requirements to the engineering team in a clear and concise way. If this is you then we would like to hear from you.
Responsibilities and Duties

Structure and negotiate complex deals with customers

Contact customers and build lasting relationships through excellent communication and negotiation

Assist in defining the company’s commercial roadmap for 2D and 3D RTS
-
Work closely with the engineering team providing customer feedback and potential design modifications
-
Keep constantly up to date with the RTS technology and its capabilities
-
Project manage the customer experience from first contact to product delivery and post-sales support
-
Maintain the iCOMAT CRM system in accordance with industry best practise
-
Identify new and novel areas where iCOMAT could add value either through its hardware or software
-
Produce specifications, quotes and invoices for head sales
-
Some travel both outside and within the UK will be required
Qualifications, Experience and skills
-
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering / technical filed. MBA would be considered an asset
-
5/7+ years combined experience in automotive / aerospace sales as Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier w/ superior track record is required
-
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
-
Adaptable and able to work under pressure to tight timescales

Understanding of carbon fibre composites preferable
